Counselling in Berlin
I am a Berlin-based psychological counsellor working with individuals, couples and parents, in English and Greek, both in my Prenzlauer Berg practice and online.
Counselling can often mean different things to different people but its most important aspect is building a trusting relationship through which a counsellor can help you gain self-awareness and develop the skills to live a more fulfilling life.
The aim of counselling is to equip you with more information about yourself and your surroundings so that it becomes easier to navigate through any difficulties you are facing.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
Carl Rogers
About
I live in Berlin since 2015, hailing originally from Greece, and having spent most of my adult life abroad, I bring a diverse and open-minded perspective to my practice. I started out on a different professional path but 10 years ago decided to pursue my interest in understanding and helping people and I studied Counselling Psychology. Over the years I have continued my education, gaining expertise in specific fields of counselling.
I see the counsellor as a trusted companion whose purpose is to create an empathetic and confidential space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings.

Individuals
Each person and situation is unique and requires a holistic perspective in order to create the supportive environment needed for a specific individual at a specific point in their life.
My approach is based on person-centred therapy integrating tools and techniques from other theoretical frameworks. The first sessions focus on building a trusting and non-judgemental relationship, understanding your story and the current challenges in your life. In time the process might take us deeper into life experiences that have shaped your perspective and beliefs.
My aim is to help you become more self-aware, work towards the goals you set, develop coping strategies and ultimately improve your quality of life.
Areas I can help with
Emotional Problems
Personal development
Relationship problems
Work-related problems (burn out, relationships)
Mood disorders
Stress
Phobias
Couples
In couples counselling what comes to the forefront is the relationship between the partners and the behavioural patterns that have emerged throughout the years.
My role as your counsellor will be to provide a confidential and neutral space and help in increasing both partners’ satisfaction levels from the relationship and changing any negative interactions. In the beginning we work on building communication skills, problem solving, effective conflict resolution as well as on commitment and the beliefs and expectations of each individual. Along the way, we will discover the emotions that drive the relationship dynamics and might lead to misunderstandings and conflict. The life stage of the relationship will help determine what the couple needs in order to move forward.
Areas I can help with
Communication problems
Conflict
Commitment and trust issues
Estrangement
Separation
Sexual issues
Parenthood
Parents
Parent counselling can be done for one or both parents and addresses feelings of anxiety, stress, burnout and also explores parenting views and generational patterns.
The abundance of information surrounding parenting strategies can be confusing especially when there are intercultural differences or a family is not living in their country of origin. The lack of a steady support system, like extended family or friends, only adds to the weight of the parents who might be in need not only of practical assistance but also emotional support. I have experience working with expat families and I also draw from my own personal experience and philosophy and I can help make sense of whatever comes up with parenthood.
Areas I can help with
Parenting views and strategies
Generational patterns
Personal identity
Burnout and exhaustion
Postpartum anxiety
Couple relationship
Anger
